Boscastle

This picturesque village lies in Forrabury and Minster parish, and is excellent base for touring Cornwall’s most beautiful Atlantic coast. Boscastle is well worth visiting with its unspoiled medieval harbour charming cottages and hidden churches.

Boscastle Harbour apparently rebuilt in 1584 still hosts number of Fishing boats but was once busy with trade, unfortunately the coming of railways soon saw its decline as trading port. For an unforgettable experience you can take a boat trip and if it’s breeding season you may be lucky to see seabirds, razorbills, guillemots, puffins or even seals. From the harbour visitors can explore old village of Boscastle with its cottages some dating as far as 15 th century.

Witchcraft Museum has been in Boscastle since 1960 and houses world largest collection of artifacts and regalia related to witchcraft its one of most popular museums in Cornwall. Museum has a library with about 4500 occult related titles and can be accessed by appointment.

The site of long vanished Bottreaux Castle dating back to 1100ad offers magnificent view of harbour and coast. Boscastle village has charm, excellent facilities, stunning scenery breathtaking views and is well worth to see and explore.
